CHOOSING THE RIGHT COMPANY? . . .OR CHOOSING THE RIGHT PROCESS? . . .
. . . MAYBE THINGS ARE NOT THE WAY THEY USED TO BE!

Fifteen years ago, when I started my MLM ventures, there were probably 50 companies to choose from. When choosing to build a business, it was essential to find the right company . . .the company that one could get behind because he/she believed in their products and believed in the company and how to build the business. Back then, you chose the business and then you learned from your upline how to build the business. That was cool until my downline told me to go to my friends and neighbors, invite them to my house for a meeting, but not tell them what it was about. In other words, I liked the products, the company was solid, but I sure didn't like the system. So . . what happened was I gradually dropped out like many others.

SIGN ME UP", I SAID!

And then . . .something came to me in the mail one day . . . a letter that said . . build a network marketing business entirely by mail! WOW! You mean I can build a business . . .a network marketing business without going out to my family and friends and neighbors? I can sit at my kitchen table and build a business? "SIGN ME UP," I said! . . .with little regards for the company or products! Hmmm I loved the system! Well, as it turned out, I really did build a business . . .right from my kitchen table . . a thriving business as I became the state director for Kentucky and things were going great . . .that is until the company decided to close down its MLM division. However, no fear . . for now I was on a "mailing list" and got another "build your business from my kitchen table" offer, but this time it was as easy as having the company send out packages on my behalf! WOW! "SIGN ME UP," I said! . . with little regards for the company or products! Hmmmm . . I loved the system and actually built up a real nice business of over 1,500 distributors . . right from my kitchen table . . .that is until the company closed down without even telling their leading distributors that they were out of business. Just like dust in the wind . . here this year . . gone next . . but "I sure loved that system" .. . I said!

Well . . by this time, I was tasting success, but was getting tired of starting up a new business each year . . . so I thought . . . maybe I need to CHOOSE THE COMPANY FIRST and the SYSTEM NEXT. That I did! I said . . what company has been around so long that there is virtually no chance they will go out of business. Ah . .there was one that surely won't go out of business . . . .and I love their products! "SIGN ME UP," I said with little regards to the business- building process and based it mainly on the company and the products. Hmmm . . sounds like my MLM endeavors were cycling back to where I started from in terms of process, but with some new techniques.

SO . . .WHICH IS IT? PROCESS OR COMPANY?

"So, where am I going with this," you ask? Process or Company? Which is it? What should I look at first now that we are approach- ing the new millennium. Some would say, "the more things change, the more they stay the same." Well, things have changed . . for the better, I might add. Remember, 15 years ago, there were only about 50 good companies available to choose from for network marketing. Today, there are many more . . .and I'm not talking about the little surface programs out there. I'm talking about some good companies that now have a track record. I've mentioned this before, but I want to stress it again. 80% of all start-up companies do NOT make it to their second year anniversary and of those that do, only 20% make it to five years. There are now enough companies to choose from that you can feel safe with regards to utilizing them to build a business, but now I must say "WHAT IS THEIR SYSTEM FOR BUILDING A BUSINESS?

Due to computer technology and the Internet, new ways to build a business are now available. In other words, where I was excited about building a business from my kitchen table ten years ago, that same excitement has been replaced by being able to build a business from the keyboard of my computer. WOW! "SIGN ME UP," I said!

SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM

. . . is winning out as the thing to first look at in today's network marketing arena. Don't get me wrong . . .finding the right company is also important because of obvious reasons, but even if you join the right company yet you have no system to build your business, you will simply become a wholesale buyer from your own business. On the other hand, if you have the right process which allows you to build a lucrative income-generating business and have it connected with the right company for you, then you will have something very powerful at your fingertips!

Just think where the industry has come (notice I didn't necessarily say people) . . .when we could build a business from our kitchen tables via postal mail, many of us kissed those home meetings goodbye. When the Internet came along, many of us kissed postal mail goodbye! Do you see where we are headed? Do you see that it's now about the system that will thrust your business-building efforts forward?

What you will find is many companies are not yet Internet friendly. They still require the old processes to build a business. That is fine for those people who want to use the old ways, but for those of us who are on the cutting edge of technological network marketing, doing it the old way is too slow and expensive. Let's face it! The old ways are going to become obsolete because more and more people are coming online . . .either because they want to or they are forced to . . just to keep up.

THE REAL KEY TO THE RIGHT PROCESS

The real key to the right process is having an upline that provides the system. Why the upline? Because they see things from a different perspective than does the company. They see the system from a distributor point of view. It is important that the company makes it possible for the process to work. That is why it is so beneficial to align yourself with an upline that has a definite system.

What I am talking about in terms of the right system now has every- thing to do with being able to build your business entirely from your computer. That includes lead-generating, recruiting, follow-up, sign-up and training.

AND NEXT . . . FINDING THE RIGHT COMPANY

Of course, the right process is meaningless if it isn't associated with the right company. That is why the right company needs to be Internet friendly, but more than that, it helps if they are also International.
