Make Your Recruiting Efforts Pay
The Concept of the Funded Proposal

By Alex E. Booth

Geometric progression sounds nice in theory, but... The "just get 5 who get 5..." theory of geometric progression has obvious problems in an industry that suffers from a 95% failure rate. If you could turn a group of 5 people into a large organization, we would have all gotten rich in the Big A years ago. To achieve real success with most network marketing companies, you need to sponsor large numbers of people.

If you have your sights set on sponsoring a large number of people into your Network Marketing business, direct mail may be your method of choice. But be careful. Direct mail can be a very expensive undertaking if you're not using a funded proposal. Without this tool, you can expect to spend thousands for a very small return.

How does a funded proposal work?

The funded proposal, as referred to in the March 1996 issue of Upline Journal, offers valuable information to your potential prospects. Namely, information about "How to succeed in Network Marketing." With such a high industry failure rate, networkers are starving for a better system. They are hungry for practical information about building their Network Marketing business.

Many of the "heavy hitters" and "marketing gurus" in the industry have known about and used funded proposals for a long time. They sell generic information and then backend prospects into their company. In the process, they are erasing their ad costs.

Have you heard of Tony Robins, Don LePre, Brad Richdale, "Big Al" or John Fogg? If you buy any of their how-to training products, you'll soon be introduced to their "backend." The "hook"...their initial "offer"... is only meant to help pay for the ads.

How can you use funded proposals to rake in hundreds of quality prospects at little or no cost?

HERE IS THE KEY...When you use a funded proposal approach, you need to offer "generic" information that appeals to almost everyone in Network Marketing. There is an abundance of generic Network Marketing "how to" information out there for you to use. If you are so inclined, there are even books that will teach you how to create your own information products.

If you don't want to take the time to create your own, you can use generic training courses that that have been specifically designed for use as a funded proposal. Whether you create your own or use someone else's, a funded proposal can give you and your downline virtually unlimited high quality prospects. And best of all, they won't cost a lot of money to acquire! With a "Funded Proposal," you may even make a profit from your recruiting efforts this year.
